Tower Defence: Reading The Lane Before You Build

The biggest mistake new tower defence players make is building the moment a level loads. Take ten seconds first. Look at where the path bends, where it doubles back, and where two lanes almost touch.

Corners are gold. Enemies stay inside your tower's range longer on a turn, so a slow-firing high-damage tower at a bend often outperforms three cheap ones on a straightaway. If a path folds back on itself, one splash tower can cover both stretches at once.

Do not overspend early. Keep a small reserve so you can react to the first wave that surprises you. A single well-placed upgrade beats two rushed new towers almost every time.

Finally, learn the enemy order. Most tower defence games show a preview of the wave. If armour is coming, you need pierce; if swarms are coming, you need splash. Building blind is how you leak.
